Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my account?

Open the app, go to your profile, then tap Account Settings → Delete Account. Your account and personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Note that anonymised transaction records in shared groups may be retained to preserve the integrity of your group's expense history.

Does Let's Split process payments?

No. Let's Split only records who owes whom — it does not transfer, hold, or process any money. To settle up, you'll use your preferred payment method outside the app (UPI, bank transfer, cash, etc.). You can save your UPI ID in the app so your group members know where to send money.

Why does the app need access to my contacts?

Contacts access lets you quickly find and add friends who also use Let's Split. Your contacts are never sent to our servers — phone numbers are hashed on your device first, and only those hashes are used to match against registered users. You can revoke this permission any time in Settings → Privacy → Contacts → Let's Split.

Someone added me to a group, but I haven't signed up yet. What happens?

We create a placeholder ("shadow") account linked to your phone number so your balance is tracked correctly. When you sign up with the same phone number, your account is automatically claimed and all existing balances appear in your app.

Can I edit or delete an expense after it's been added?

Yes. Tap any expense in the group to open it, then use the edit or delete options. Keep in mind that changes will update the balances for all members in the group.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email us at support@letsplit.app with a description of the bug or feature request. For bugs, including your device model and iOS version helps us investigate faster.

Is Let's Split available on Android?

Currently Let's Split is available on iOS only. Android support is something we're considering for the future. Stay tuned!

How do I request a copy of my data?

Email us at support@letsplit.app with the subject "Data Request" and we'll provide you with a copy of your personal data within 30 days.
